Junior Class Concession Information
Welcome to the Junior Class of 2015. In preparation for Junior/Senior Prom and Senior Activities, the Junior class has the opportunity to raise funds by working the concession stands for all Southern Boone sporting events with the exception of Middle School and High School Football. The information contained in this site will help both parents and students sign up and work games.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Many Games Do I have to Work?
Each member of the Junior class is expected to log 10 games. They may work them, parents or other adults may work for them, or their friends may work for them. We do not allow any person below 9th grade to work our concessions. In lieu of working the games a student may choose to pay $200 for their Junior Class Dues. Students can work extra games and donate them to other people in the class. I will work with those students to give the games away if they choose to do so.
How many People work a Game?
On a normal two game night for all sports other than High School Basketball, you will have two parent workers and three student workers. There is a Lead Parent that will set up the concession stand and help you break it down at the end of the night. You are not released until the lead parent indicates that all closing procedures have been followed. I will update this site to reflect basketball requirements closer to their contest dates.
How Do I Sign Up To Work Games?
You will be using a web based program called SignUpGenius. This program allows you to sign up to WORK contests. If you are signing up for a particular student, please put their name in the comment field. At least one adult MUST work at each contest. If there is no adult signed up then the concession will be cancelled for that night. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at: [email protected] .
If I am signed up to work, what time should I be at the concession stand?
You should plan to be at your designated concession stand AT LEAST 30 minutes prior to the start of your event. The time on the Sign Up Genius reflects the 30 min requirement.
What Do I do if I can't work a game?
If you cannot work a game that you have signed up for, it is YOUR responsibility to get another person to work for you. Parents must have another adult to work for them, but a student may get a parent or another student to work in their place. The person you get to replace you doesn't have to give you credit for the game worked. You forfeit that credit unless you work the game. Please don't leave a concession short-handed. Make sure you honor your commitment.
How will I know if i am signed up for a game?
You can access the Sign Up Genius at anytime. This will allow you to see which contests you have signed up for. You can also sign up for a text reminder through the Remind tab and you will also receive an email on Sunday prior to your contest. No method of reminder is foolproof so please write down all of the contests you sign up to work. Even if you do not receive notification you are responsible to work.
